Peach Residents VS The Next Generation - 2304/04 In 1996, a well known Radio 1 DJ called Danny Rampling played a track by Mark Spoon and Pascal FEOS called 'The City Bigger & Better.' That when my obsession with Dance Music began and it has grown into a passion. I kept on wondering back in those early days what it was like to hear these beautiful tunes in a club would be like. In 2003 I finally got to experience that feeling when I visited Peach back at Camden and I cant stop going back. Now at Studio 33, Peach is a lot smaller, but the facilities are much more up to date and the DJs are able to interact with the crowd a lot better. April 23rd's Peach was entitled 'The Residents VS The Next Generation.' We arrived at approximately 10:20pm and went straight into the bar/lounge area to get drinks and then went into the 'Next Generation' Room. The first set was a typically progressive trance set. Didn't know many of the tunes played, but the awesome Gill Norris Forme (Leama & Moor Remix) went down a treat at the end. Then the fun really began!!! The 2nd set was a driving prog / Trance set which featured tracks such as Audioholics External Key and Above & Beyond No One on Earth and the awesome new Markus Schulz remix of Solid Globe Sahara. Rick and I, by this time, were knocking back the drinks and I was starting to feel tipsy by this time, but loving every minute of it! The mixing was amazing. If this is what we have to look forward to in the future at Peach, I can't wait! At about 2:15am we all decided to head over to the main room where Graham Gold was on. Started off a bit proggy, which was a contrast to his set when Above & Beyond were at Peach a month ago. Don't really remember much of Graham's set, but I remember getting very very drunk and thrown up on. Apparently I did wasn't caught as badly as Foxy, but some of it went in my mouth (luvvely!!!) Dave Lambert was last on and he played a corker of a set which included tunes such as RVDB Timeless / F&W You Will Understand and Blank & Jones A Forest (from what I can remember!!!!!!!!!) Overall it was a really good night and I think everyone had fun. Got very drunk by the end of it all and eventually got home at 9am. If my clubbing life is going to be as good as night's like these I cant wait!!!!!! |
