4 Strings - Sunrise
SpinnInn Records
Catalogue Number: LQ052P
Well another release from Carlo Resoort and Jan De Vos otherwise known as 4 Strings on the
fine Liquid label, part of the Spinnin' group of labels. This time it's a limited edition
one-sided bright orange vinyl so let's check it out.
Original Mix
This begins with an almost techno style kick with a dark legato bassline and echoing fx before
building the layers of percussion with hi hats and a funky perc loop. Then at around the 1
minute mark an acidy saw bassline comes in to really get things moving with a deep sub-bassline
giving this a full-on vibe. A lush sweeping synth line comes in over the top before the beats
drop away just after the 2 minute mark to the breakdown. The main synth riff comes with a
simplistic riff which is typical of the 4 Strings sound but just works so well as layers of
pads and chords come in and off we go again. Layers of chords and synths stack under the riff
to build this into epic proportions and make it a surefire track to be hearing all summer long
in Ibiza and all over.
This is probably the best 4 Strings production since Into The Night all those years ago. It
will be interesting to see what happens with this on the full release, but let's hope the
powers that be don't pad another cheesy vocal on top of another trance gem to try and take
it mainstream. The thing with 4 Strings tracks is their simplicity which sometimes can seem
somewhat average at home but yet in a club at 4am suddenly make perfect sense. This was my big
tune of the week a couple of weeks ago on Rise and I've been hammering it ever since on ETN and
elsewhere. Quality stuff.
