MIDOR&Six4Eight vs. Talla 2XLC - Beyond Earth
Bostich
Catalogue Number: BOSTICH005
Well I was very lucky to manage to source this, the new single from M.I.D.O.R & Six4Eight
who regulars on here will know are one of my favourite (and most productive I might add)
producers atm. This time its a collaboration between them with A. Tomalla, otherwise known
as Talla 2XLC.
Onto the vinyl and I had to actually mail the guys and ask them for some more info as the
vinyl is an unlabelled white and they kindly confirmed the following:
A: M.I.D.O.R. & Six4Eight vs. Talla 2XLC - Beyond Earth (Original mix)
B: M.I.D.O.R. & Six4Eight vs. Talla 2XLC - Beyond Earth (Talla 2XLC remix)
Starting out with the Original Mix, this begins with a nice crisp kick and percussion as
mellow pads drift in shortly behind the beat. Bubbling acidy synths drop in for a few bars
then the bassline drops in and really kicks things off again as you would expect from them.
Layers of haunting pads and synths help build the atmosphere as the tune really starts to
build and then filtered synth chords join in and it's really kicking off beautifully as we
head towards the break. The beat drops away as the lush bleepy synths and synth chords also
drop to a mellow arpeggiated synth riff and fx. Then out of nowhere, a pounding synth riff
kicks in and takes off the roof and the beat kicks back in taking the roof off with it!!
Stunning is all I can say, the riff is almost a surprise after the mellow synths and pads
in the breakdown but boy does it work well!
Over onto the other side and the Talla 2XLC remix. This begins with a nice tough beat with
layers of percussion. A short drop and then tough techy synth stabs drop in over a driving
bassline and you know this is proper 4am peaktime stomping trance for sure. The synths
and bassline drop around the 1:30 mark to be joined by a filtered chord synth riff as the
tune picks up towards the break just after the 3 min mark. The original synth riff drops in
echoing into the distance and bounces back in and out, filtering in and out as the beat
begins to build and then kicks back in.
Another simply great production by the guys and a great release for Bostich. The A side is
a lush peaktime trancer as you would expect from M.I.D.O.R & Six4Eight and the B side really
ramps up the power for the more tech-orientated floors so between the two you're bound to
find one which is your style.
I look forward to giving this a serious hammering out and about over the next few months
- miss this one at your peril.
