Dark Territory are MPFS members Darren Williams and Matt Kirkland. Having previously remixed Gerry Cueto's 'Blue', this is the lads first original production for Conspiracy Recordings.
Original Mix
This mix holds the phattest kick you will hear anywhere! You can tell from listening to the intro that it is not going to be your run of the mill, average trance tune. Whilst the structurevery DJ friendly, the kick and the pads used make it very unique. I absolutely love the way the breaks are rolled in just before the second build. The baseline chord changes are very emotive and help to build the track up really well.
Activa Remix
Now we come to the remix which is provided by Conspiracy co-owner Activa. This remix takes the track into more of a familar trance sound. Its really well built up from the start. The baseline chord changes dont come in straight away and he's used some really nice backing chords to help enhance the main riff. One part of this mix i've never been particularly keen on is the repetativeness of the first part of the main riff during the build up. Whilst it does perhaps create a better climax before the drop, its used far too often for my liking these days!
This is an absolutely immense effort for a first production. It has already been snapped up to a baroque records mix compilation and has been played on the Residency on Radio One on a few occasions. It is due out on May 29th on CD and Digital Download.
