John O Callaghan & Bryan Kearny return with the follow up to Restricted Motion, which was unquestionably one of Discovers biggest releases so far. This is currently being kaned by pretty much every trance DJ who can lay his or her hands on it. So what's all the fuss about?
Original Mix
John & Bryan's 'sound' is starting to feel generic at times, but I just cant get enough of it. Big kicks, rolling basslines and absolutely amazing chord changes are what this track is all about. The looped kick chops before the main drops are also there and, as per usual, really help to build it up that extra bit. Its so easy to see why this has been one of the biggest tracks of the year for so many people. The sudden chord change during the middle of the main drop is something else. The backing pads which are added in after the main drop really makes the track that extra bit complete. This is an absolute beast of a tune and it shows off why John & Bryan are two of the biggest producers on the scene.
Guiseppe Ottaviani Remix
The Discover records head of A&R, John Askew, described this mix as 'pure audio sex'. I probably wouldnt go that far, but it is a fantastic remix which offers something very different to the original. Ottaviani has taken the main melody and given it his own twist. The baseline is darker and the whole track is given a moodier feel. A lot of the pads are lost which is a shame because they could give the remix an additional dimension. But overall this is a fantastic offering from another rising star.
Its not hard to see why Discover Records is getting so much good critique at the moment. They keep on churning out amazing tunes. This will almost certainly be the tune of the summer for most trance DJs and rightly so!
