Oracle - The One
Equilibrium Records
Catalogue Number: EQ009 (15/3/4 release date)
I was lucky enough to be mailed a test pressing of the new release from Kris
and the guys over at Equilibrium last week. This time its the first release from DJs
Andy Bagguley (Passion resident) and Genix under their Oracle alias entitled 'The One'
(no guessing where the idea for that one came from then)
What you get on your little slab on vinyl this time is:
A) Original Mix
B1) Digital Deliquents Mix
B2) Rusch & Endre Mix
Starting with the Original mix, this begins with a nice beat with short acidy
riff over a nice driving bassline. This builds and a lush synth riff and further bassline
joins in from the background beginning to lift the track - top stuff. This is joined by
some synth strings chords as the track builds and builds towards the breakdown. During the
emotion string break, the synth chord stabs join in alongside the riff and then the track
kicks back in again big time! Quality uplifting trance which is sure to go down a treat at
Passion and other similar places and certainly one I'll be hammering over the next couple
of months.
Over onto the B side and Digital Deliquents start things off. This is very similar
in style to the original mix but done in a tougher style. Great breakdown as before and
the arpeggiated synth riff in the breakdown really works a treat - quality. Be sure to check
this side out if you like your trance nice and driving.
Last but certainly not least we come to the Rusch & Endre mix. This is more mellow
than the other two mixes but with layers of lush synths and pads over the top it's classy
emotional trance all the way. If you've liked any of their previous works (such as Rusch &
Elusive's take on Envio) then this will be right up your street. Will work brilliantly in
those early sets as you start to lift the crowd.
In summary if you love your trance you're sure to find something on here which takes
your fancy. Fans of the mellower side are sure to love the Rusch & Endre mix and the original
and digital deliquents are great for peak time sets. Another great release from Equilibrium -
definitely a label to watch over the next few months.
