The ever-prolific Five AM strike again with another release, the latest being the debut offering from 19 year old danish producer Edin Bosnjak. Two melodic trancers are on offer here:
Alluring Wishes has been the one getting all the attention, and with a main hook like this it's not hard to see why; effectively it's just an 8-note 1-bar riff that repeats itself while the underlying chords change, but manages to sound incredibly strong & refreshing. Despite having a cracking melody however, I felt the kick & bassline didn't quite have the energy & power needed to back it up properly, although this may be down to personal taste. Had this had more drive to it it probably would have been a strong contender for my track of the year so far, but as such feels it a bit weak in places. Still a pleasant listen all the same however.
The B-side Sleepless Nights is in pretty much the same uplifting style as the A-side. The main melody here is alot more subdued and less climactic, giving the track a warmer feel, reminiscent of the good old halcyon years of uplifting trance. Whilst there's nothing particularly memorable here it functions well enough, albeit in a small shadow of the flipside.
Overall a decent release, although I'd have much preffered to see a remixer's interpretation of Alluring Wishes take up the B-side... it's a shame to see a hook that strong go to waste!
