Harry Peat – Affrodizziac

Being an unsigned staple of Desyn Maseillo’s sets as far back as 18 months ago, the man
himself had the good sense to sign it to his own label. For a label that is building
itself a reputation for delivering outstanding music. You’d expect Affrodizziac to be
something rather special. It is, and more.
The substratum is comprised of a deliciously simple breakbeat pattern, which works to
accentuate and enunciate the percussion which soon follows. Drums and bleeps float along,
light as air, the bassline providing further support for the myriad of delayed synths
and effects that bounce of each other whilst simultaneously injecting the base for the
funk to work its magic.
Asad Rivzi’s take has been as favoured amongst the big name jocks as Harry Peat’s original
and it’s easy to see why. It’s extremely fibrous and tough in its approach. The funk
finding itself well and truly the centre of attention.
Affrodizziac is a deliriously delightful piece of summer magic. It’s dynamic, infectious
and wonderfully danceable. It may have taken an age to find the release it deserved but
it has certainly been worth the wait.
