T4L - Moonwalk / Perfect Blend
Black Hole Recordings
Catalogue Number: ITWT377-5
As usual with Black Hole/ITWT stuff you don't get a lot of info on their releases so
all I can say about this one is it's a forthcoming release on the In Trance We Trust
sub-label and was also featured on Tiesto's recent Disneyland set. Other than that,
if anyone has any more info, please let me know and I'll update as appropriate.
Moonwalk
This begins with a filtered kick drum and percussion then a dark sub-bassline comes
in with some filtered sweeping percussion fx to start things off before a short drop
then the tune kicks in hard with a driving bassline and pounding beat. Layers of synths
come in over the top as the tune begins to build with layers of mellow eerie pads and
fx in the background. The main chord sequence then begins with lush synth melody as the
beats drop away to the synths and chords. Haunting layers of strings sweep in to give
this an epic almost classical breakdown before the massive synth line comes in over the
top and makes this a truly outstanding trancer of the highest order before the tough
beats kick back in from the break and guarantee to get the crowd moving. Quality stuff.
Perfect Blend
A chunky kick and percussion loop start this one off with some spacey electro style laser
percussion. A short drop to a dark pumping bassline as the percussion drops away then begins
slowly to build layer on layer giving this a darker sound to the a-side before it drops to a
stunning synth melody and powers back on. Mellow layers of pads come in over the top to
lighten the mood of the track to the breakdown. The main synth melody comes in with a slightly
distorted saw wave synth giving this a little bit of a different vibe to most standard trancers
before the bassline and beats kick back in once again.
In summary, there's a little bit of something here for everyone. I played Moonwalk on my
RiseFM show the other week to massive reactions on TA and other forums so it seems ITWT have
another monster release on their hands. Certainly don't also rule out Perfect Blend on the
b-side which is another great peaktime trancer too which some of you might prefer. Highly
recommended.
