Marco V vs Jens - Loops & Things Relooped
ID-T Records
Catalogue Number: Not shown
Well what we have here at last in my sticky little mitts is a single sided promo of the latest Marco V
production, this time a modern remix of the classic by Jens from a few years ago. You still hear the original
dropped regularly in classics sets with its distinctive riff so does this new mix for 2003 do justice to the
original? I was prompted to keep a good eye out for this new mix as Muzik heard Piet from Rank 1 drop this at
Passion a month or so again to massive effect and recommended it, so I've been scouting for a promo ever since
and now it's mine.
The tune kicks off with the usual nice and tough Marco V beats with a nice stompy bassline - no messing
around with long beat intros, this puppy takes you straight into the action. I particularly like the nice drops
with the flanged beats and the tune kicking in again as the tune builds. On the 2nd drop, the synth chord riff
kicks in the background and starts to build the power of the tune - this is a quality bit of tough trance kids
and no mistake. Then a cheeky snippet of the very distinctive piano riff and the beats kick in again driving us
on toward the break as the piano riff comes in while the beats pound - yummy.
The break gives us the lovely synth riff, some might say a tad cheesy sounding but I'd disagree - I simply
can't wait to drop this out (tomorrow hopefully) as I reckon the place is gonna go completely mental. The piano
riff along with the synth means you can hear this tune coming a mile away - it's one of those where the crowd,
once familiar with it, will start to go mental as it builds - wicked stuff.
In conclusion, a fantastic new take on a classic tune for 2003. Marco does it again and I look forward to
hearing this dropped at Crasher@Passion on Saturday! Essential tough trance for the box.
