Pablo Gargano - Arcana/Osho
Discover Records
Catalogue Number: DISCOVER07
Another release from the ever productive Discover label following their excellent John Askew - Skylab which
I also recently reviewed. This time it's a production from label boss Pablo Gargano, who you might also know as
Wavestorm. I'm a big fan of his Wavestorm productions so I was eagerly anticipating checking this out as well.
First up is the a side, Arcana. It kicks off with a nice stomping bassdrum with a nice percussion intro to
allow those smooth transitions favoured by us trance DJs. A steady bassline joins and then a lovely arpeggiated
synth riff bubbles over the top to move the track on nicely. Very similar in style to maybe an Insigma track is the
best way I can think to describe this track, and IMO that's no bad thing at all. Check this if you like that nice
synth riff driven style of trance - quite minimal but very uplifting.
Onto the b side and the second track, Osho. This is the tougher of the two sides with a wicked driving
bassline and arpeggiated synth riff. Almost Goa-trance sounding this is wicked for taking a set into darker sounding
territory without getting too techy. Check this side if you like Yahel or maybe Man With No Name style trance as I
reckon this will be right up your street.
Another strong release from Discover, making them another of my favourite labels at the moment. Both sides
are excellent for different styles of sets and (I know I keep saying this but its sooo true!!) another great tune
for the box! Check it.
