Another month, another Positiva Promo. Not that I'm complaining, in my opinion this past year
has seen positive grow up from utter cheesy trance shit from the likes of Ian Van Dahl (as an
example) to quality club driven funky tracks like Shapeshifters and Deep Dish.
The latest offering comes in the form of Poker Pets, a name I've not come across before.
Needless to say I opened the package and eagerly awaited the time when I could spare 20 minutes
to have a jazz... And here we are.
Original Mix
Take the Radio edit and make it three times as long, that’s what we have here. It starts with a
lengthy, easy to mix in intro followed by a quick break down with some “ooo”in and “arrr”in. At
this point I’m undecided where this belongs, at the forefront of the world’s most prestigious clubs
or on the dance floors of Ritzy. Unfortunately I’m none the wiser even when the track has finished!
The actual groove of the track is perfect for Ibiza, has a nice beat, nice base, nice synth's n
things that’ll have anyone and his dog bopping his head gently. The vocals, in my personal opinion
are NOT cheesy; they compliment the track, although I know a fair few tune spotters (some on this
site) that would disagree with me.
Brilliant stuff, probably the best out of the Positiva camp since Deep Dish.
ATFC remix/p>
Well, the cute and cuddly feel goes straight out the window for this mix; this DEFIANTLY deserves
a place on beeches across the golden isle. Yes we have full vocals yet all effected up, lots of
reverb n that, regardless there certainly not the key to this tracks perfection.
Nine and a half minutes is a long time for a track, yet this one pulls it off without a boring
beat at all. Highly recommended, if you’re not a funky fan, this could well convert you.
The CD also came with a Raul Rincon and Behrouz mix however can’t say I was fond on either, I'd like
to focus on the positives of this track, what a track it is. Defiantly one for your box, no doubt
about that.
