Purple Haze - Eden / Rush
Spinnin Records
Purple Haze is one of the many alias's used by Sander Van Doorn. This is the follow up to the monster that was 'Adrenaline' which was absolutely massive last year.
Eden
This starts off with a soft kick accompanied by some funky percussion and is built up well as the baseline and backing riff are faded in. The main riff isnt really that exciting, but it works well. There is a great delaying riff which is used periodically and enhances the drop especially well. What i absolutely love about this track is that its really funky and its really nice to mix with.
Rush
The reason I loved Adrenaline was the diversity of the baseline and the different riffs and effects that were used and the same can be said of this. It kicks off with a hard, but not hearty, kick which is accompanied by some percussion before a mini drop when the kick is removed before it is dropped back in again. The track builds up really nicely until that classic SVD baseline is brought in. It takes the track into another dimension. It makes it a lot darker than it originally was. The breakdown and build up are infectious. The baseline is the key during the build up and some breaks get added right before the drop which makes the track stand out big time! This track got dropped recently at Passion's 11th birthday and went down really well.
He's done it again! Two more tracks which are moody and diverse and both have been tried & tested out to maximum effect. There is no doubt that Sander Van Doorn has a massive talent and I cant wait to see what else is in store for the future.
