Positiva Recordings

Catalogue Number: CDTIVDJ212

First off, I should of reviewed this a while ago, my bad. Unfortunantly mail is still being delivered to my old address thus there's often a week or two delay in getting tracks. It's a pain in the neck let me tell you, specially when I'm expecting mail from the bank!

Radio Edit

Whilst I'm really enjoying the vocals, strings, riff n general feel to this track I get the impression its not going to get splashed all over Radio 1, Local radio stations. I could be wrong, I only listen to Chris Moyles in the morning on my way to work which takes a whole 10 minutes so that’s 23 hours and 50 minutes of airplay I miss out on. It’s nice, it just doesn’t feel like radio material, more like a cult track, one a few lucky select music fans will of heard and love.

A beautiful easy listening track, eases you in nicely for the following remixes.

Den Hetrix & Raff Mix

Can’t say I was fond of the mix in period. As solid as the beat is its one of those that has a beat n little else. So unless you’ve dome some heavy EQ mixing and the previous track is all but faded out the transition period will not be as smooth as it could be. Anyway, enough geek talk for me!

I’m probably not the only one to notice how similar this is to the radio edit, only it’s three times as long. This is in no means a bad thing as the radio mix is VERY nice. This will no doubt be the version you’ll hear at your local Ritzy’s should the “talented” resident pick it up. Simple, effective and long enough to boil n egg whilst it plays out.

Mat Bradshaw Remix

Even from the first kick you know this one means business. The pitch gets knocked up a few notches, a whole heap of high hats leak through your speaker’s n faint whispers of vocals set the mood.

The Simplistic breakdown makes its mark with those whispers echoing from left to right before everything comes back together again. This mix is certainly on the chirpier side, plus those extra few BPM really do add to the overall package.

There's more of a Balearic feel to this one too, with one of those guitar type thingy me bobby’s playing softly in the back ground along with a few high pitched plinky plinky noises repeating itself every few beats… Even the strings feel sun drenched!

My preferred mix, one I’d certainly enjoy boshing out in the car.

Doublefunk Remix

This baby takes a turn towards the dark side. A deeper groove with shifty pads n haunting effects on those whispers all add up to a track you wouldn’t want to hear in the dark whilst your alone!

The breakdown reeks of everything Trance fans lap up. You can almost see the kiddies reaching for the lazer (“safe as fuck!”) whilst the strings play their course n the vocals make an appearance. Shame its not a few BPM faster otherwise it could well pass in a set.

Much like the previous mixes this is great. However I’ve concluded that whilst this track is essentially a taste of summer we all miss/long for its NOT something id want to hear at Head Kandi whilst shaking my thang. The drive up/back yes, id want nothing else, but club material, it falls short of the goods.

I’d advise a purchase for sure, just don’t expect your needle to wear out over this one, more for your CD deck than anything.
