Silvertide - Horizon (Psyonic remix)
Pumpin Choons
Catalogue Number: CD-R
The second Pumpin' Records CD-R that i'm lucky enough to have in my
possession for this round of reviews. Silvertide's horizon threatens to be a
rather big number in 2004, and Pumpin' Records have thus embarked on a
competition to discover some unsigned talent and put their remix on the flip
side of the eventual release which is penciled in around April time. Bit of
a while to wait on this one, a clever marketing ploy no doubt as the buzz
around the track will have time to build and build.
This is so far the pick of the remixes which have been discovered,
and as a result its the one that's being backed the most alongside the
Original mix. Psyonic eminates from Hungary, not renouned for their quality
uplifting trance, maybe this will change things. It's a powerful and
uplifting instrumental number, gone from the original are the Piano stabs
during the breakdown, but what we do have is a break a-wash with lush synths
which extends to a rather large lead riff when the track finally drops back
in. My only concern with this remix would be the tempo, pitch this up a
little however and it's like giving it a new lease of life, only then can
it really be allowed to shine. And boy it does shine.
Looking forward to the official vinyl of this, i'll definitely be
placing a copy firmly in my box. In the meantime, the CD-R will do the job
nicely, an excellent remix which compliments a fantastic original nicely,
this looks set to be a big release with a heavyweight line up of mixes.
